About

Founded by Toronto Symphony Orchestra musicians Clare Semes and Kelly Zimba Lukić, Sonority Sisters is a violin and flute duo that shares music in creative, safe, and socially distanced ways. From classical music to personalized song requests, the pair frequently curates interactive programs for museums, weddings, retirement communities, birthday parties, virtual gatherings, and private events. Their work has been featured on BlogTo, CBC Toronto, Global News, CTV Your Morning, Toronto Life, and Zoomer Radio, among other networks.

Sonority Sisters were born out of a desire for human connection.

As musicians in the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Clare and Kelly typically perform four to five times a week – until COVID-19 essentially cancelled large scale events for the better part of two years.

The two recognized Toronto’s hunger for live art and began offering free concerts in the park. When they saw the positive impact it was having on people who were starved for human connection, they knew they had to keep playing.

Now, Sonority Sisters perform dozens of live and virtual events a year with the same goal – human connection through music.
